Today Jack MacKenzie staff was treated to a special Christmas lunch that the SCC and parents from the community organized. On behalf of the staff, thank you so much to everyone who contributed to make this special lunch for us. On top of being incredibly delicious, families were more than generous with all of the food items that were sent in.
Over the past couple of months, students have been learning about Residential Schools through stories, lessons and discussions in the classroom. To demonstrate their understanding of Residential Schools, students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 created postcards that are written from various perspectives and time frames.
December is a busy month and will be especially busy for the SLC as they are planning several events. One of their bigger events is creating food hampers for families in need from Albert and Thomson Schools. They are hoping that each classroom at Jack MacKenzie School will fill a hamper with items for a Christmas meal.
