Outstanding Achievement Awards from the Saskatchewan Music Educators Association at the Sask. Music Conference.

Congratulations to Mrs. Hinz!

Recently, two teachers from Regina Public Schools were presented with Outstanding Achievement Awards from the Saskatchewan Music Educators Association at the Sask. Music Conference.  This award recognizes an ongoing dedication to excellence in music within the province.  We are very proud that very own our Arts Education teacher, Mrs. Marlene Hinz, was one of these award recipients!

Marlene Hinz is a music specialist currently teaching at Jack MacKenzie School. She trained at the University of Saskatchewan and obtained additional training from the University of Alberta. Several years ago she founded the world drumming group UMOJA: One heart - One Beat.  Marlene also enjoys the opportunity to teach and work with adults in her ventures with the Regina Community Drum Circle as well as Orff Level courses at the University of Regina.  She feels very fortunate to have a career that continues to feed her creative spirit - teaching the arts is never dull!
